If you’ve been reading our recipes, blog posts or newsletters for any time now, you’ll know that Casey and I are madly in love with fresh fruit and vegetable juices. There’s a very clear reason why we have a large juice almost every day of our lives and it’s simple…because it makes us feel amazing!
Fresh fruit and vegetable juices give us the chance to load up on vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients in the simplest form we can digest them in: liquid.
Juices are also incredibly tasty when made fresh and with the right combination of ingredients. They get bonus points because they can include large quantities of vegetables you may not eat enough of, like greens, and put them right into your body in juiced form.
As you’ve heard us harp on about many times before, fiber is very important for health, but juices give you an opportunity each day to get a concentrated variety of nutrients that you probably wouldn’t get if you just ate whole fruits and vegetables. Simply because you wouldn’t eat enough of them to get the same levels…like a head of celery or a whole bunch of kale or spinach. It’s also very likely you wouldn’t chew the plants well enough to extract all the nutrients from the food either.
Juices to the rescue! Especially now as Summer ends and the weather is starting to cool, it’s an ideal time to get all the nutrients you can into your body to help prevent sickness in the coming cold months, and to keep you looking and feeling energized and vibrant. Plus it’s a great time to really make the most of the last of the unbeatable summertime produce!
To help you on your juicy journey, today I am sharing our very favorite juice recipes that we’ve created for you over the years. I hope these wonderful recipes add more options to your juicing repertoire.
1. Anti-Inflammatory Green Juice
This recipe is a fantastic and delicious tonic to keep bugs, colds and inflammation at bay anytime of year, and especially as colder weather draws in. It combines some of my very favorite ingredients like turmeric, cucumber, orange, lime and romaine in this winning health elixir.
2. Vitamin C Booster Juice
This incredibly tasty juice offers the kind of deliciousness that tempts you out of bed in the morning just so you can drink it. Not long after this juice, it’s likely you’ll feel like dancing or running in circles in the best possible way. Consider yourself warned.
3. Cinnamon-Spiced Chocolate or Carob Milk Juice
This recipe is very surprising in its flavor. It’s creamy, sweet, earthy and it even tastes like chocolate milk’s healthier twin! Try it out.
4. Lemon Coconut Nectar
While this isn’t like the other fruit and vegetable juices we post, this incredibly delicious and recipe can still be classed as a juice as it strains out most of the pulp. This recipe is creamy, fresh, tart and tastes so decadent and smooth. A delicious choice as an afternoon treat or dessert.
5. Spicy Healing Green Juice
This is a very nutrient dense recipe that is sure to give you energy and help protect you against sickness. If you haven’t entered into the land of green juices yet, I recommend including the apples. If not, then feel free to enjoy without. We like both options equally.
6. Tonic Tea Coconut Milk Latte
If the weather is already cold or getting cold where you are, you may not feel like a juice. This warming, creamy, delicious tonic tea is an incredibly flavorful and comforting option to warm you up. I love having this drink in the afternoons as a snack as I work. Heavenly! Note: if you only have one of our Vimergy tonic herbs, you can still make this recipe with just your one tonic herb. It will still taste amazing!
