While what you eat is the most important factor in losing weight and keeping it off long term, there are other factors that play a very important role in achieving and maintaining a healthy weight.
Exercise and sleep are common knowledge, but did you know certain herbs can also stimulate weight loss, even if you don’t change your diet?
A recent study study by the Functional Foods Center in Korea have proven that taking Gynostemma daily leads to weight loss even if your diet doesn’t change.
The study tracked two groups of 40 obese people, one taking Gynostemma daily and the other taking placebo pills. No other changes were made to their diet and exercise, and they were monitored for food intake, weight, abdominal fat, BMI, and via blood samples.
After 12 weeks, here were their results:
- Lost almost 3 pounds
- Improved their BMI
- Decreased hip circumference
- Smaller waist sizes
- Reduced cholesterol and triglyceride levels
The conclusion of the study is that taking Gynostemma daily is helpful for weight loss, even if no other aspect of your diet or lifestyle has changed. Now that’s a pretty compelling reason to enjoy one of our very favorite herbs!
